Whistleblowing

In accordance with Directive (EU) 2019/1937 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 October 2019 on the protection of persons who report breaches of Union law, the related Act No. 171/2023 Coll. on the protection of whistleblowers, and in accordance with Meopta s.r.o. internal policy.

The aim of whistleblowing is to protect the whistleblower from sanctions, discrimination or other retaliation.

The report should contain information about possible unlawful conduct that:

  • constitutes a criminal offense, or
  • constitutes an offense punishable by a fine, where the upper limit of the fine is at least CZK 100,000, or
  • violates this law, or
  • violates another legal regulation or a regulation of the European Union*

* in the areas of 1. financial services, statutory audit and other assurance services, financial products and financial markets, 2. corporate income tax, 3. prevention of money laundering and terrorist financing, 4. consumer protection, 5. compliance with product requirements, including product safety, 6. transport, transportation and road safety, 7. environmental protection, 8. food and feed safety and animal health, 9. radiation protection and nuclear safety, 10. competition, public auctions and public procurement, 11. protection of internal order and security, life and health, 12. protection of personal data, privacy and security of electronic communications networks and information systems, 13. protection of the financial interests of the European Union (Article 325 TFEU), or 14. functioning of the internal market (Article 26(1) and (2) TFEU), including the protection of competition and State aid under European Union law

It may be done by a person who, directly or indirectly, has performed or is performing work or other similar activity for Meopta s.r.o. - dependent work performed in the basic employment relationship, service, volunteer activity, professional practice, internship, is applying for a job (or performing another similar activity).

However, Meopta s.r.o. does not exclude the option of reports from persons who do not perform work or similar activities for Meopta s.r.o.

All reports will be submitted exclusively to the appropriate designated person or persons who meet the requirements of the Act on the protection of whistleblowers (in particular Section 10 of the Act):

If you wish to submit the report in person, you may request this via the app.

The designated person shall then inform the reporting person of the receipt of the report and of the results of the assessment of its validity and, following this, of the adoption of appropriate measures to remedy or prevent the unlawful situation.

The oral report shall be audio-recorded or recorded in a manner that faithfully captures the substance of the oral report. An audio recording of an oral communication may be made only with the consent of the reporting person. The designated person shall give the reporting person the opportunity to comment on the recording or transcript of the audio recording, if made. The statement of the reporting person shall be attached to the recording or transcript.

Report may be made to the Ministry of Justice orally or in writing.
